Some things are so good we just can’t let them go. Wedding planning season is off to a start and these wedding trends were so hot in 2015 we are seeing more of them in 2016, with a twist. We are seeing some serious playoffs of the most popular wedding trends in 2015 – Rustic – Illusion – Natural floral – Dessert bar – Gold. Take a look at how these top trends are being reinterpreted for 2016.
RUSTIC
Playing off the chalkboard of 2015, the marquee takes signage into 2016. Illuminate the room with words like Love, Joy, Laughter and Soulmate. Creative lighting is all the rage for 2016; hanging baubles with candles or chandeliers covered in your favorite flowers.
ILLUSION
Illusion is taken to new heights in 2016. Plunging backs and necklines… Lace long sleeves like Princess Kate… Sheer skirts. Illusion teased us in 2015 but we expect it to be a dominant trend in wedding gowns for 2016.
NATURAL FLORAL
The natural wedding bouquet of 2015 cascades before the bride in 2016. A bride is taking a few more ques from Hollywood and going more grand in 2016. The cascading bridal bouquet adds drama to the bride’s walk down the aisle.
DESSERT BAR
The dessert bar is still very “in” but now instead of candy and cupcakes we see the wedding cake at the center of the bar surrounded by fruit tarts and chocolate tortes. Ice cream is a tasty addition to a dessert bar too.
GOLD
Gold is back and seen both as an accent and a prominent color in weddings today, but poised to make a more dominant presence in 2016 is rose gold. This year we expect to see rose gold to truly catch on with the announcement of Pantone’s Color of the Year palette of Rose Quartz and Serenity.
The classic bride can appreciate these wedding trends for their staying power and the fashionista uses these trends to create a celebration worthy of the pages of a magazine. How will you weave these trends into your 2016 wedding day?
