Spicy Tip: Spice it up! Get dressed up and don’t attend the date in your PJs. Set a romantic mood with a table that is outside or enjoy candle-lit dinner with freshly picked flowers.
Wine and Paint Date
You may have heard of wine and paint dates, where you go to a location and an instructor tells you how to paint a picture while you sip on some vino or brews. Well, many of these companies are offering “take-home” kits or you can order supplies/paint-by-numbers online. Create your own version of this popular date idea at home.
Party Tip: Make it a virtual wine and paint party and coordinate a time with another couple and do a Zoom or Skype meeting while you paint.
Stargaze Date
Global pandemic or not, stargazing is always a romantic date idea. Get outdoors and dream of a world beyond the galaxy. If you live outside the city, you can grab a blanket, a Bluetooth speaker, and your favorite adult beverage to enjoy with your sweetheart. If you live in the city (the stars will be harder to find), so go on a little trip to a local park or somewhere you can see the stars. Just make sure you are social distancing.
Tech Tip: Surprise your significant other and look like you know everything about the stars. Download the Skyview App to know what stars you are actually looking at.
Camping Date
Have kids? Want to act like a kid? – This date idea is great for couples and families alike. Go camping in your backyard. Yes, you heard right… take your tent, sleeping bags, and don’t forget the smores.
Tent Tip: Too cold to camp or don’t have a backyard, then build a blanket fort in your living room. Grab large comforters/sheets, pillows and whatever else you need to build a cozy fort inside and have a “sleepover” to remember.
Movie Date
Pop the popcorn, grab your snacks and snuggle up on the sofa with your loved one. Mix up your movie night and pick a flick that neither of you has seen before. Get suggestions from friends and family on Social Media. Have some extra funds? Then splurge and buy a movie that was just released in theatres on Amazon Prime Video, or Netflix.
Movie Buff Tip: Seen every movie? Write, direct, and produce your own movie, or recreate a “low-budget” version of your favorite movie on your mobile phone to premiere your masterpiece to your social media.
Game Night Date
Grab a game that is a favorite or challenge yourself to a new game you just ordered online. Whether it is something that comes in a box or something you plug-in on a game console, just get together and play! If you are into gaming and have a VR set (virtual reality), try a game that you can battle each other in VR.
Not into games? Then do a puzzle together. This stay-in date night idea can be relaxing with a glass of wine.
Next-Level Tip: During your “game” make a bet to keep things interesting. If your a puzzle type couple, pick a side of the puzzle for each person and see who can complete it faster.
Virtual Double Date
You love your better-half, but 24 hours a day for weeks on end – it is time for something a little more. Schedule a “double date” with another couple, or maybe several couples. Schedule a time with another couple to eat dinner together or have drinks. Open your laptop/tablet to Zoom and share the link with the couple and pick a time to “meet”. It is almost as good as meeting them at a local restaurant or bar.
Double the Date Tip: Do a virtual double date with another “stay-in” date night idea. Double date game night or double date star gaze, we live in a virtual world. You can now share your experiences anywhere!
Make the most of your time together during your self-quarantine. The way the world is now will be temporary, but that doesn’t mean that you should give up on love and sharing your love with others in your life. With positivity and love, we all will prevail and get through this together.
