Working at Chapel of the Flowers is an exciting and challenging experience.
My name is Beverly Embree and at the end of August I will be celebrating 2 years of employment as a wedding coordinator. Most days you can find me in the Victorian chapel, which is open for ceremonies Mondays thru Saturday and seats a capacity of 30 guests. Las Vegas has been my home for the past nine years; originally I am from Oregon where I thoroughly enjoyed working as a hairdresser, wedding coordinator, event planner and part time caterer.
We love doing weddings here at Chapel of the flowers but our favorites are the Renewal of Vows. On June 27th, 2009 I had the pleasure of coordinating a “Chapel legend.” Arthur & Sharon Kajiwara were married @ Chapel of the flowers in 1965. That is 45 year of successful marriage!!!
As a surprise for their 45th anniversary Arthur along with one of his daughters, planned a secret vacation for Sharon. Arthur and Sharon arrived in Vegas Friday at the Golden Nugget where they stayed. The following day Sharon was informed of the Vow Renewal. Sharon said that the whole trip was just one shock after another: being picked up in a white limo for the wedding, pulling up to the chapel whey were married in 45 years ago, seeing her children and grandchildren waiting on the porch for them to arrive. When they came to me to prepare for the ceremony, we asked for stories of their first wedding. Sharon said that they stayed in a “roach motel” down the street from the chapel and the chapel was so much smaller than it is today.
Arthur and Sharon Kajiwara were able to celebrate for the second time at Chapel of the flowers their love for each other only this time they were surrounded by their family!
From the Chapel of the Flowers, we wish Arthur & Sharon and their Children & Grandchildren many more loving years together!
-Katelyn DeGraw, Coordinator
Hello everyone! We have decided to start our blog back up again and hopefully there will be a new post everyday. I will start off by introducing my self. My name is Katelyn DeGraw and I have been with Chapel of the Flowers since June 1, 2008 and I am a Las Vegas native! I am new to the chapel scene but I have been planning and coordinating weddings for a year now. I also was just married this last March and because of this I feel like I have that much more to offer our couples.
I just wanted to say THANK YOU for making our 20th Anniversary one we will always remember. The whole staff was courteous, and so professional, and did all they could to make our day so very special. Doug Gilbert, we could never thank you enough for the special touch you gave to our ceremony. Even Sam our photographer, he was awesome. Everyone there made us feel like nothing else was more important than us, right then and there. Thank you all so much for the memories.
The chapel staff was excellent from the beginning to the end. Jennifer, our wedding planner, was great. She made sure of every aspect to make our wedding a success and everything went smoothly without any glitches. My experience was joyful. I would recommend to someone who wants to do a ceremony in Vegas!
Everyone we worked with was very helpful, honest, and caring. Our experience was PERFECT– it could not have been better! Our planners Jennifer and Marianne were awesome, and our minister Jerry Stephens was very loving. The website was easy to use for our guests, and we could always view our package details online. Everything was better than I could have dreamed! The pictures on the website are just a taste of what was to come. We’ve already told everyone we could think of about this
I liked the website. The only thing I found slightly confusing was the photo packages, but Stephanie answered my questions and helped me to understand them. Stephanie was very helpful and always very prompt in answering any questions I had. The wedding exceeded my expectations. I loved every moment of it! Everything went perfectly and as planned. Overall, we were blown away by our experience and would recommend it to anyone!
Our experience was wonderful. Everyone says how much work there is to planning a wedding; but after talking to Stephanie, who took care of everything, we were completely at ease. I felt that my day was the most special and important day that it was. Our day was simply a wonderful experience that I would recommend Chapel of the Flowers to everyone.
