Our Very Own Cinderella

At the Chapel of the Flowers, the staff is very close. We especially love our Controller, Liza! I had the pleasure of coordinating Liza’s wedding on February 2, 2013 at our Magnolia wedding venue. The Magnolia Chapel is Liza’s favorite!

When she told me that I would be her coordinator, I was extremely excited. The day finally came and the entire Coordinator team wore purple to match with Liza’s wedding colors. Liza had reserved the First Look Service where she and her Groom, Woo, would arrive separately so they would not see one another until she walked down the aisle. Woo arrived about 30 minutes prior to the ceremony with some of their guests.

Woo looked very handsome with his purple vest and white tie! He seemed a little overwhelmed when half of the Chapel staff came to tell him how wonderful he looked when he knew just a handful of us. He was so happy and very excited to see his beautiful bride!

When the limo arrived with George as the driver, the photographers and I were waiting for Liza to step out. Right behind us were Monica and Nicole, who work closely with Liza. They were wearing matching shifts as ‘unofficial bridesmaids’ and were carrying bouquets. It was very funny! Liza told us that since there were not bridesmaids or groomsmen, Monica and Nicole had decided they would surprise her for a good laugh on her big day. Liza was most definitely surprised!

Liza’s dress fit her like a glove! It was stunning lace with an opening in the back. Her veil had the beading around the edges that matched her dress. Since their wedding color was purple, they had subtle hints of purple on her shoes, her eye shadow, the flower girl basket, the flower girl dress and his vest. It was perfect!

The flowers were made by our lovely florist, Jena, and Liza said her bouquet was exactly what she had imagined it to be! Liza had selected special ribbon for her flowers that matched her theme perfectly. Her bouquet had white lilies, roses and hydrangea with just a little greenery. I fell in love with this bouquet and the arrangement of different flowers. I might be a little biased since those are my favorite flowers!

The Magnolia Chapel was packed with Liza & Woo’s friends and family, and many people were watching online all over the world watching.

Everything was ready and we were about to start so I had Liza stand at the very beginning of the aisle where Woo could not see her. The flower girl was so sweet and had her petals ready in her basket. Liza had the flower girl’s mother walk with her since she was quite young. When the music started, the flower girl and her mother start walking. When the little girl did not throw the flowers, her mother grabbed a handful and threw them on the floor as an example to show her that it was okay to throw the petals on the floor. The little girl was instantly mad and she picked up every single petal and put them back in her basket before she could go further down the aisle. Liza and I were laughing hysterically as we watched them. It was a priceless moment!

The best part of a First Look, in my opinion, is that every single person in the room is watching the bride in all her beauty walk to her groom, and then see them share a special look the first time they meet each other’s gaze. No one can truly know the meaning of the look that they share! From the outside looking in, that single look is so happy but from the couple’s perspective, it is so much more! I just love when the couple’s love just radiates around them like Liza and Woo’s did!

During the ceremony, there was not a dry eye that in that chapel! The minister, Al, did a great job. They were pronounced husband and wife and the entire chapel cheered.

After the ceremony, Liza and Woo went back into the chapel to begin their photo session their photographers, Vanessa and Haylee. The photos were amazing! Liza and Woo especially wanted a ‘jumping picture’ and they got some great ones! They loved their photos and were so happy with the day!

I am so happy I was able to coordinate Liza and Woo’s big day! It was such a special day and I was honored to be a part of it. I hope they have a long, happy life together and I am so glad Liza is part of the team here at Chapel of the Flowers!
