Past Bride Visits Chapel
The other week I had the pleasure of meeting one Mrs. Tanya Coomer (past bride) who stopped by the chapel while in Vegas for a girl’s trip (her first ever, with the intent of checking out Garth Brooks!). Tanya, all decked out in her Beatles ‘Love’ regalia, got married at Chapel of the Flowers nearly 11 years ago! She made sure to point out that she was still happily married to her husband, Matt.
Their wedding took place inside The Victorian Chapel and they have a little boy who was only 1 year-old at the time of their wedding and he served as a ring-bearer – a tired one, because he had yet to have a nap that day! They had 10 family and friends with them at as well as several people tuning in via the internet. I can only imagine what the live broadcast looked like 11 years ago – pretty cool!
While she was here, she told me how she loved the ease of planning her wedding, even though she lives all the way in Texas. Tanya also pointed how much she loved the atmosphere of our chapel, and particularly of the Kissing Bridge and its saying ‘Happiness is being married to your best friend.’ It’s so true-
Not Tanya and Matt as their files weren’t digital (11 years ago!), but another lovely couple posing on Tanya’s favorite spot
It was fun having a moment to sit down with Tanya. I hope to see her again, next time on a trip with Matt. Their little ring-bearer (guessing he’s not so little anymore!) could join them and maybe they’ll renew their vows; looks like Dec. 17, 2015, is open for a 15-year wedding anniversary. Just a thought!
