What would be your fairy tale wedding destination? Ever thought about having your wedding outside a chapel or church? For Rachael and Philip, they had a destination for their wedding that not most would even attempt. They decided to trade the cold weather of Ireland for Nevada’s sun and warmth. And what better location than the Valley of Fire?!
I have been working at the chapel for more than seven months now and have gotten the privilege to edit so many fantastic weddings. The offsite weddings that I get to edit are especially meaningful to me since the photographers usually choose to edit them themselves. I recently had the chance to edit Mr. and Mrs. Ngo’s offsite photo session. They got married here in our Magnolia Chapel on March 6, 2012. I cannot say enough about how great the photos turned out for this couple!
Yes, I admit it, I am a TLC and WE network junkie. I will sit and watch “Say Yes to the Dress” or “Four Weddings” episodes back-to-back, all day long, even if I’ve seen them before (which, I usually have). My husband can’t understand it at all because the last thing he wants to do when he gets home is watch television shows about what he does all day at work. I’ve explained to him that being a Wedding Planner is more than just a “punch-in, punch-out” kind of job. It is an ever-changing, always evolving, opportunity to create a once-in-a-lifetime experience for people that they will remember for the rest of their lives. I think that he, like many people, was under the assumption that getting married in Las Vegas was what you see in movies like “What Happens in Vegas” and “The Hangover.”
Ryan and Lindsey were married in the La Capella chapel on 9-10-11. In attendance were about 40 guests and all of them so excited to see them marry one another on this one-of-a-kind date. I could tell that Ryan and Lindsey were two very special people that had a lot of people who loved them.
On August 23, 2011, Kim and Mike Newman were married on a yacht on Lake Las Vegas! It was an experience that I will remember for years to come! Little did Mike and Kim know that it was Shanna and my first time doing a Lake Las Vegas wedding on the yacht. It turned out to be a success! Let me explain why.
It used to be many years ago, when online dating sites first sprang up, that it had a stigma attached to it. Meeting online was sort of culturally taboo and something a lot of people wouldn’t admit to even though the majority of the population was participating in such an activity. However, as culture and society have evolved over the years, online dating sites have become a more acceptable way of meeting people whether it’s for short term dating or a long term relationship. Online dating is really a great way to save time when looking for a life partner. Time is so valuable and with online dating, you can right away browse through profiles of people who are looking for love and can weed out within the first few minutes if you have anything in common with a certain person.
