And the Winners Are…

The Edge Radio Station in New Zealand held a contest for two well-deserving couples in which they partnered with Chapel of the Flowers. The winners of the radio contest won a trip to Las Vegas to elope here at Chapel of the Flowers. However, the catch was that they could not tell their families where they were at or what they were doing. The radio station did a live broadcast from inside our La Capella Chapel, directly to their listeners in New Zealand! The couples were both interviewed prior to their ceremony, and then their ceremony was broadcasted live. After the couples said ‘I do,’ they called their mom and dad; however, they had to call them with the news of their newly-minted wedding as their conversations were being broadcasted live.

Both couples that won had different stories on why they should win the opportunity to secretly elope to Vegas. For instance, the first couple had been together for 10 years, and was supposed to get married four years ago, but the bride became pregnant with twins! After, the twins they had another baby. All kinds of family drama ensued and the wedding planning became just too much. So, they entered this contest that The Edge was doing and won! I love these stories, because I then got to make the couple happy, and helped them get what they have been wanting for so long. In addition to the radio broadcast, several New Zealand media was in town covering various events throughout Las Vegas, including the weddings! Having all the media crews at the chapel was very exciting for all of us, especially since they were interviewing the couples and even some of the staff here at Chapel of the Flowers. The couples seemed to enjoy themselves, and all the attention they were receiving!
