Make sure you pick a wedding date that works well for you and any guests planning to witness your “I dos” in person. Consider weather, school breaks, holidays and conventions that might be in town. This could affect which date you pick for your wedding. Click here for more information on picking your Las Vegas Wedding Date.
There are many beautiful hotels on the Las Vegas Strip that you can book for accommodations for you and your guests. Each property has incredible amenities that set them apart from one another, so how do you pick the one resort that’s right for you? Take the stress out of searching for a hotel room and let our Wedding Planners book your accommodations for you. We offer an all-inclusive booking process from ceremony to hotel rooms, and our professional staff will make sure you and your guests have a comfortable place to stay for your destination wedding.
Professional Tip: Arrive a day or two before the scheduled wedding date to make sure you have time to get your marriage license and arrange for any additional activities you would like to do while in Las Vegas.
Now that you have everything booked, decide on how you’ll transport your wedding dress and/or tuxedo to Las Vegas. Here are some things to think about: Are you flying into Las Vegas? Are you going to take your gown/tuxedo on the plane? Does your dress and lengthy train take up too much space to be considered “carry on” luggage for the plane? Will you need to ship your wedding attire via UPS or FedEx? Are you renting your wedding attire?
Shipping your wedding attire. If you do plan on shipping your attire to the hotel you are staying at, make sure to contact the hotel prior to shipping to find out their policies for holding packages for guests. Many of the hotels will allow delivered packages and they will hold it up to a week for guests.
Shipping Tips:
- Leave plenty of time to ship your attire to the hotel. You don’t want the package to get delayed in bad weather and not show up for your wedding day.
- Have your package arrive a couple of days before you do. That way, it is ready for you to pick up upon check-in.
- Track your package. A couple of hours after it’s signed for and delivered, contact the hotel to make sure the desk has physically seen your package. Shipments come through the receiving area of the hotel, and it can take a couple of hours for the registration desk to see your package.
- Ask for steaming services. Your attire will most likely need to be pressed or steamed. Ask the hotel if they offer steaming services for wedding dresses and tuxedos. If they don’t offer this service, you will need to find a dry cleaner in the area to make sure all the wrinkle are pressed out for your wedding day.
Renting your wedding attire. If purchasing and traveling with your wedding attire is just too much to worry about, contact your planner at Chapel of the Flowers for tuxedo and gown rental services.
Marriage License
If you plan to have a legally binding wedding ceremony, you will need to make sure to have your marriage license prior to your wedding ceremony. After you arrive in Las Vegas, go straight to the Clark County Marriage License Bureau.
The main requirements are: Government issued identification, and both parties must be present to receive the license. Each person must be 18 years of age and not related. The marriage license offices are open extended hours in the city that never sleeps. Ask your planner about our VIP treatment and allow Chapel of the Flowers to provide round-trip service to obtain your marriage license in the most efficient manner.
Night Before the Wedding
You’re on vacation in Las Vegas and your first instinct might be to party all night long. But remember that you’ll be the star on your wedding day and will photographed before, during and after your ceremony. We recommend that you get plenty of rest the evening before your wedding. Have a casual pre-celebration dinner with your loved one or wedding party, enjoy a drink or two and unwind in the hotel room. You’ll appreciate getting this extra rest so you’ll look radiant and be alert on your wedding day.
Make sure you wake up with plenty of time to get ready. Did you book a Glam Squad package at Chapel of the Flowers with pre-ceremony photography session? Make sure you are up and ready for your wedding prep team to get you gorgeous for your big day.
Eat Breakfast or Lunch. Depending on what time of day you are getting married, make sure you eat before the wedding. A lot of couples are too excited or can’t find the time to eat on their wedding day. You certainly don’t want to pass out at the altar!
Don’t forget to bring your marriage license, and allow plenty of time to get to the chapel. Sometimes making it to the limousine or your car is a big production. Make sure to leave the hotel room with plenty of time to walk to your mode of transportation and drive to the chapel. Chapel of the Flowers is about 10-15 minutes from most Las Vegas Strip hotels. If you have a member of your group who isn’t riding in your limousine or car, assign them to double check the room to make sure you didn’t forget anything.
You made it through the busy day and married the love of your life. Now it is time to celebrate. Whether you came with just your honey or with an entourage, be sure to schedule a nice dinner to celebrate. Whether you tastes run to traditional or casual, Chapel of the Flowers offers reception packages to fit almost any wedding party size from small to large.
Don’t forget: your wedding day is a once in a lifetime event. Take time to enjoy the company, the love and the laughter. Try to not stress about the small stuff, even if something doesn’t go right. At the end of the day, you are celebrating the union between you and your soul mate.
