Chapel of the Flowers’ Bride Embracing Life

Chapel of the Flowers Bride

We have some pretty incredible couples walk through our doors. Once in awhile, we hear a truly inspirational story and Laura Lawson’s story is one of those. She is a past Chapel of the Flowers’ bride that is truly living life to the fullest!

You may remember Laura from our “Globe-Trotting Love Story” post back in December 2014. Since December, CNN featured Laura in a news article about how she is embracing life with a bucket-list and a “can-do” attitude.

Laura wasn’t always as confident and outgoing as she is today. In her teenage years, she was bullied to the point where she no longer went to school. After sitting on the coach day after day, she felt unmotivated to do much with her life.

After watching the movie “Yes Man”, it sparked an idea to create a bucket-list to include small goals that she could accomplish and wanted to try. The list included things like dying her hair pink, joining a roller derby league and taking cooking class (which helped her lose weight). The list started small but has now grown to about 350 goals; which Laura has accomplished around 150 items off her list.

During her journey, she met her husband David. Four years after meeting, they decided to get married in Las Vegas (at Chapel of the Flowers) since they didn’t want to have a large wedding. Laura looked breathtaking in her blue-hued vintage inspired wedding gown as she said “I do” to the love of her life.

The newlyweds finished their wedding getaway by having a Las Vegas Strip photo session, sky diving, sipping champagne on the way to the Grand Canyon, visiting the animals with a backstage experience at the San Diego Zoo and shooting some zombies with paint balls.
