It has been my teenage dream to get married in an elegant chapel in Sin City after watching so many Hollywood movies and sitcoms with scenes taking place in Las Vegas. Last summer, Johnny and I were travel companions and Vegas was the first destination of our trip. Soon after, we decided to be travel companions for our life’s journey and we planned to tie-the-knot in Vegas as this place has a special meaning to us.
At Chapel of the Flowers, we are constantly meeting different couples with different stories and some affect us more than others. Tammy and Brian planned to get married here last April and everything was all set and ready for their wedding and reception. Tragically, the bride’s mother was in a fatal car accident the night before the wedding and they had to cancel. The couple eventually decided to reschedule for a few months later to focus on the life they have together.
Jason and Brooke Runyon are amazing. Upon arriving in one of our limos, Jason was really nervous and asking lots of questions during his check-in process. He wanted to make sure everything was perfect for Brooke and I don’t blame him either! When a couple like Brooke and Jason have a Deluxe First Look in their package, it is a lot of fun for me as a Wedding Coordinator to meet them separately. That way, I get to see how much the couple is really meant for each other. When Brooke stepped out of the limo, she was glowing! She looked fabulous from head-to-toe. Brooke was so laid back and relaxed, she was definitely an easy bride to check-in and get ready before her ceremony. Jason is one lucky guy! They seem like they perfectly balanced each other.
Every day at Chapel of the Flowers, I have the privilege to see just how strong love can be. It gets proven time and time again that love doesn’t care how old the couple is, or where they are from or whatever obstacles may stand in their way. It just happens, and lives and thrives when it is embraced. Philomena and Ian Stevens are one of the best examples of the power of love that I have seen.
I LOVED THIS COUPLE! They immediately came out of the limo with huge smiles on their faces! Kayleigh and Jordan were the sweetest couple! Jordan stepped out first and then he helped his beautiful bride out of the limousine. When Kayleigh came out, she looked happier than ever. Jordan made sure he knew both the photographer’s and my names, which is so thoughtful. Once out of the limo, they practically skipped into the chapel.
Bruna and Rafael feel in love, got married and are still in love today. I had the pleasure of being a part of the beautiful renewal of vows between Bruna and Rafael Tozzi. Rafael and Bruna met while on the job; well, actually, Bruna was interviewing for a position and Rafael was interviewing her. Rafael thought she was perfect for the job, as well as for his heart!
I love the anticipation before meeting my couples when I first greet them at their limousine – this is such an important day for them and I get so excited to be a part of it! On this day, the first limousine pulled up with all the gentleman since the bride and groom had a Deluxe First Look.
Lately it seems like more of our couples are adding off-site photography sessions to enhance the memories of their wedding day. As a photographer, going off site gives me a feeling of rejuvenation. I love shooting all over our beautiful chapel property, and every couple has their own unique inspiration for me. But sometimes it’s nice to get ‘outside’ and see what other backdrops and locales Las Vegas has to offer for photographing brides and grooms. More often than not, our couples choose locations on the Strip near their hotel – Bellagio, Paris, and the Venetian are quite popular; and Cosmopolitan inside City Center is rapidly becoming one of our favorite spots.
